Those two expressions are directly tied to the person in question, who is inevitably acting either crazy or overstepping their bounds by getting into something they aren't supposed to be getting into. I think that those are the most common usages is very telling about how people perceive the word. It doesn't apply to generiy lousy things. It most often applies to lousy people who can't control themselves and need to be told what to do. Like slaves. So, yes, I maintain that there is a connection between that word and negritude in the way that people visualize it. I think the application of words is a very interesting way to really get at the heart of how people understand them, the color they, if you pardon the pun. I am reminded of the phrase "tump over," which most dictionaries only say means "to fall" or "to knock over," but if you look closely at how it is applied, it almost always only involves a spill. Like a pot of dirt can tump over, or a glass of water, or a boat. But it is very rare to hear someone say a person tumped over or a book was tumped over, etc, because there is no spill involved in those things.

Do they even know how to check the oil or plug a flat tire? Put up a fan or fix the toilet? No! most don't even know how to cook a fresh meal from scratch at home. I learned at an early age from my grandpa how a real man should act and is to treat others. Very few will ever see that I actually have a side, but I do.
